HYDE PARK ESTATE AREA GUIDE

Astons London is privileged to be one of Hyde Park Estate’s foremost estate agents.

A violent past…

The now exclusive and highly sought-after Hyde Park Estate had far more humble beginnings. Originally farmland and known as ‘Tyburnia’, this was the historic location for the Tyburn Gallows, last used in 1783 and at one point able to dispatch up to 24 so-called criminals at once. Shortly after the gallows’ removal, development started on luxurious houses allowing wealthy locals to live on the border of Hyde Park and the blossoming Marble Arch area.

An elegant present…

Since then, the Hyde Park Estate has seen the building and establishment of imposing terraces of superb houses, delightful cobble-stoned mews, private garden squares and exclusive blocks of apartments such as The Water Gardens and The Quadrangle. Houses and flats in the area can sell for record-breaking figures, especially if the 350 acres of Hyde Park can be viewed from the windows.

The Hyde Park Estate has been home to many members of royalty, political figures and celebrities, with the unique Connaught Village offering many independent retailers, boutique shopping and high-quality cafes and restaurants.
