London Cocktail Week: Must-Visit bars in West London

News at Astons London | 06/10/2015

Stay tuned for dazzling flaring and glass swilling this October as bars across London celebrate London Cocktail Week - we can’t wait! From our base in the heart of cosmopolitan west London, we know all the haunts to visit to make the most of this event in the London calendar, from the 5th to the 11th of October. Here is a quick guide to some of our favourite west London bars taking part in the event, with some of our own local staples thrown into the mix.

Beachcomber Bar, Queensway

Missed out on a summer holiday this year? Nevermind, just head over this friendly tiki bar in Queensway that is renowned for its playful challenges between punters and bar staff and a range of premium cocktails with a distinctly tropical edge. The bar will be serving a bespoke £5 cocktail throughout London Cocktail Week to those with LCW wristband.

Portobello Star, Notting Hill

We’ll seize any opportunity to spend an evening along the beautifully eclectic Portobello Road in Notting Hill. One of the best landmarks along the iconic road happily happens to be the Portobello Star bar that is famed for its comprehensive drinking experience and fine selection of spirits of cocktails. Gin lovers will also love its educational and lubricated Ginstitute tours taking place during LCW.

Rum Kitchen, Notting Hill

The Rum Kitchen in Notting Hill delivers a rum and reggae-infused atmosphere inside its classy and colourful space. Visitors are transported to the shores of the Caribbean with a drinks menu stylised on traditional flavours from the islands. Travel to the venue to sip on an exclusive 25-year-old rum from Trinidad or between the hours of 6pm and 8pm to sip on a choice of £5 cocktails.

65 and King, Westbourne Grove

This self-proclaimed boozy venue loves to serve up a mix of old-age concoctions along with a few authentic originals to get the punters in Westbourne Grove swinging. 65’s cocktail menu has been crafted to commemorate its home city of London, with names such as Wolf of W11, Queen’s Way and Basil of Baker Street on display. Head down to the sultry bar to grab yourselves a made to order £5 cocktail throughout LCW.

EDG Bar & Lounge, Edgware Road

Nestle into a cosy, cushioned armchair at the plush EDG Bar and Lounge inside the Hilton London Metropole Hotel to while away the hours away from the bustle of the city. Large hanging lanterns and soft lighting provide the perfect backdrop for a cocktail in the evening: a highly recommended bar for an after work tipple!

Summerhouse, Maida Vale

No west London cocktail list would be complete without at least one mention of a riverside bar along a London canal route. The modern but family-friendly Summerhouse restaurant and bar in Maida Vale overlooks a stunning waterway from its terrace and is a great place to dine and drink al fresco. Although the venue won’t be taking part in LCW this year, its range of cocktails and dishes are well worth a taste!
